Centered around Birmingham it extends from Chester and Matlock in the north to Gloucester and Oxford in the south and from Hereford and Shrewsbury in the west to Nottingham, Leicester and Northampton in the east and encompasses Birmingham, Crewe, Stoke-on-Trent, Worcester and Derby.

The Heart of England Rover allows travel between Crewe and Rugby on the West Coast Main Line and between Derby, Nottingham and Leicester on the Midland Main Line.

Across the country you can travel from Chester to Nottingham via Crewe, Stoke-on-Trent and Derby and from Derby to Gloucester via Birmingham as well as from Worcester to Oxford via Moreton-in-Marsh and Chester to Hereford via Wrexham and Shrewsbury.

Branch lines included are Matlock, Stourbridge Town, Redditch and Stratford-upon-Avon.
