Serco Caledonian Sleeper

Serco Caledonian Sleeper

The Caledonian Sleeper is operated by Serco.

The Serco Caledonian Sleeper runs overnight every night except Saturday nights in both directions between London Euston and Scotland on the lines to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness and Fort William and calls at many of the intermediate stations.

Accommodation is available to both 1st and standard class "guests" in both seats and rooms (berths) with three fare options:

  • 1st Class room: a single-person room and priority access to the Lounge Car with breakfast served in the Lounge Car.
  • Standard Class room: a room for two persons travelling together or may have to share with someone of the same sex. Access to the Lounge Car if space available
  • Standard Sleeper Seat: reclining seats with extra leg room and individual reading lights, no access to lounge car.

Bikes are conveyed free of charge (one per person) if booked in advance. Pets are allowed in first class rooms and travel free subject to a £25 cleaning charge. Assistance dogs travel for free. Pets are not allowed in the seated accommodation. "Guests" with disabilities are asked to advise them in advance of travel.

*Tickets are available as "fixed" or "flexible", the latter allowing alterations or refunds the former not.

Tickets are only available for single journeys, for a return you should purchase two singles. Children (5-15) travel for half the adult price.

If you already hold a ticket for daytime travel you can purchase a sleeper berth supplement.

^For a 1st class berth supplement you require a 1st class daytime ticket.

Tickets are sold on a quota system, they start at a low fare and increase in price as they get sold, so the more in advance you can book them the cheaper they will normally be.
